Gayle retires, Susman steps into Chief Executive role and Anders joins as Director of Operations

Austin, Texas – STG Design is pleased to announce that co-founder Jim Susman has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately in light of the retirement of co-founder DeWitt Gayle. Respectively, the firm recently hired Ross Anders as Director of Operations.

Susman has been practicing architecture for more than 35 years. Prior to being named CEO, he oversaw firm design, operations and project delivery across all studios with a focus on quality. Susman has worked with a diverse set of clients including National Instruments, Dell, The University of Texas and the Thinkery (Austin Children’s Museum) as well as many more that span the healthcare, religious, financial, corporate and multi-family markets.

Co-founder Gayle has functioned in nearly every role within the firm since its founding in 1976, from project draftsman to president and CEO. In addition to his role in management and business development, DeWitt was involved as principal-in-charge of numerous commercial and institutional projects. His clients include the YMCA, Transwestern, Scott and White Health and The University of Texas. He will continue to be a resource to the firm several days per week for the next several months.

Anders, formerly of CBRE, joined STG Design as the new Director of Operations. He will work closely with Gayle during his transition period. In this role, Ross will manage all firm operations. Prior to joining the firm, Anders was the director of project management at CBRE in Austin. Before that, he was the owner and project manager at RTS Schultz Holdings / American Realty Corporation in Austin. Anders brings 13 years of experience the firm.
