Oracle Opens Newest US Campus on the Water’s Edge in Austin.

AUSTIN, TX — The new Oracle Campus was unveiled today and promises to be more than a workplace – focusing on innovation, state of the art amenities and being a live-work-play environment. This new hub is all about growth, and this is the workspace needed to attract and retain Austin’s top tech talent.

Situated on 40 acres near the shore of Lady Bird Lake with dramatic views, proximity, and connectivity to the city’s exploding Central Business District, the campus provides Oracle with the opportunity to create a mixed-use, highly energetic community weaving office, residential and recreational zones together.

The complex features 560,000 square feet of space and is designed to provide Oracle’s estimated 10,000 employee workforce with innovative workspaces, training center, tech bar, a generous dining facility, full fitness center, large outdoor terraces, open parks, a Starbucks lounge and numerous themed floors highlighting aspects of Austin's culture including local art, music and murals, as well as Austin-centric interactive activities including F-1 slot car races, and an array of putting greens and ping pong tables.

“We didn’t work with Oracle to simply design a new corporate campus,” said Jim Susman,  principal, and leader in STG Design’s Architecture and Interiors practice. “Together, we incorporated our ideas that would meet the needs to retain and grow a workforce and reinforce Oracle’s vision: To create a campus resonating from an active core, blending with the surrounding context as it expands from its center.

With a 1000’ long exposure to the lake, the building facade feature is intended to mimic a gentle wake gliding across the building as it sits above the water’s edge –  a nod to Larry Ellison’s passion for sailing. The first phase building is sited to maximize views of downtown and to compliment the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail with its own verdant, landscaped grounds, and, of course, our ever-changing Austin skyline. “The Waterfront Campus harmoniously unites Oracle’s innovative systems with the built environment in a way that honors Austin’s unique culture, lifestyle and vital connection to nature," said Darrell Westcott, architect at STG.  "As a firm, we are sensitive to maintaining Austin's character while creating a forward-looking vision for companies moving to Austin." Special care was taken to ensure the relocation of eight majestic oak trees which maintain the character of a well-established park-like neighborhood of older communities.

Oracle's campus is not just a workplace; it’s now a cornerstone of one of Austin’s most cherished amenities. We have been honored to partner with this innovative company on creating this cutting-edge campus.
