The structure is part of a vast industrial complex dating back to 1920 and this new addition was designed to accommodate an existing foundation and slab from 1950. The space has a free span of 70 feet and clear height of over 45 feet. The four-story mezzanine section houses the vertical fiber spindle equipment and a bridge crane.
The façade is designed to showcase the non-woven fiber development process and to provide a new, more open image to their manufacturing complex. The elevation facing the public incorporates a 20-foot high glass curtain wall, which spans the length of the building and is anchored on the ends with masonry and metal panels that provide context with the rest of the plant.
