STG Design’s very own “Fixer Upper”
AUSTIN, TEXAS - April 5, 2023 - Through adaptive re-use of the former Waco Tribune-Herald Newspaper, an existing mid-century newspaper manufacturing building, STG Design created a new, vibrant Headquarters for Magnolia in Waco, TX. Congratulations to the design teams on our very own “fixer upper”!
More on the project: The original office building is two stories with a small third story. The other additions are one-and two-level warehouse spaces and a third-level in the 1968 building. STG worked with the existing conditions of the printing press area and transformed it into a coffee bar and social hub. The coffee bar is an informal area and centralized hub where cross-collaboration can happen.
Previously spread across various offices in Waco, the private and open offices will provide enough space for all of Magnolia’s employees. The 105,000 square feet of renovated space will include a reception, executive area, a communal coffee bar, all-hands, a test kitchen, and conference areas. Approximately 30,000 square feet of the building will be conditioned storage/expansion space with loading docks. Base building modifications will include the addition of stairs, elevators, replacement/addition of windows, and a new entry canopy.
