Serving as the new city-wide service center for Austin Energy, this project comprises 30,000 square feet of office and laboratory space, a 115,000 square foot conditioned warehouse, and a 10-acre laydown yard. Newly purchased 70-ton mobile substation vehicles are stored within the warehouse and are rapidly deployed to replace offline substations. The AE Service Center features a rainwater cistern that serves site irrigation and a shaded outdoor amenity space with a fruit orchard. The project is designed to achieve Austin Green Building 3-Star and WELL Silver certifications.
