HillTop is a student housing community located in the heart of Austin’s West Campus, near the University of Texas at Austin. This site offers a rare opportunity for students to live next to an historic building (the historic Freedmen’s Building, constructed in 1869), with a distinctive design that blends the old with the new. The eight-story apartment building includes 142 units, 505 beds, a rooftop pool deck, fitness center, study lounges on each level, and 2.5 levels of underground parking. The project uses the Prescient structural system, a prefabricated metal-frame structural system that is essentially shipped to the site as a kit of parts.
